VILLA RAMOS, SAN LUIS POTOSI. Early Saturday, January 13th, a violent armed confrontation was recorded between antagonistic organized crime groups right on the border of San Luis Potosi with Zacatecas. Four vehicles were found burned and one more was abandoned.

It was around 3:30 a.m. in the community of Zacatón in this district where rival groups clashed with gunfire, which is why the residents alerted the authorities about the chases and firing of large-caliber weapons.

Upon arrival, the authorities found the burned vehicles in La Laguna and right in front of the Hermitage of the Virgin of Guadalupe on Juárez Street, as well as an abandoned vehicle.

Erick Giovanni Espino, the municipal president, confirmed the criminal act and pointed out that the confrontation also affected the community of La Blanca, the municipality of Pánfilo Natera.

It should be noted that until now it is unknown if there were injuries or deaths since no people were found at the scene of the confrontation.
