Conagua highlights coordination to address water crisis in San Luis

In less than four months of this year, 2023, the service provided by this El Realito aqueduct has been suspended eleven times, leaving Potosinos without water for 48 days, which causes water stress in the Metropolitan Area, directly affecting the population. 

SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, SLP., July 14, 2023.- Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos, as President of the Interapas Governing Board, met with the General Director of the National Water Commission (Conagua), Germán Martínez Santoyo, in order to verify the progress of the Emergent Water Plan with which the water crisis caused by the closure of operations of the El Realito Dam is faced. 

The Delegate of Conagua in the state, Joel Félix Díaz, also participated in the meeting; as well as the team from the federal agency and the Director of Interapas, José Antonio Lugo Álvarez. At the meeting, the coordination schemes were strengthened and the work of the Emergent Water Plan implemented by the Government of the Capital and the New Interapas was monitored. 

Mayor Enrique Galindo thanked the National Water Commission for its constant communication, in addition to supporting joint efforts between the three levels of government, in order to solve the situation facing San Luis Potosí, due to the closure of operations of the El Realito Dam.
