The governor of San Luis Potosí, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, highlighted that the state’s six Magical Towns are ready to welcome local families and visitors during the summer holidays, with improved roads, renovated public spaces, and attractions that reflect the rich cultural, historical, and natural heritage of the four regions.
Real de Catorce, Santa María del Río, Tierra Nueva, Ciudad del Maíz, Xilitla, and Aquismón offer unique experiences through their gastronomy, crafts, traditions, architecture, and natural landscapes, placing them among the top tourist destinations in central Mexico.
The governor stated that his administration maintains an ongoing strategy to improve mobility, security, and the urban landscape of these destinations, while preserving the identity, mystique, and heritage that earned them the Magical Town designation.
Among the completed projects are the rehabilitation of the road to the Cave of Swallows (Sótano de las Golondrinas) in Aquismón; the renovation of the main access road to Tierra Nueva; The modernization of the iconic Plaza Ogarrio in Real de Catorce, benefiting merchants and artisans; as well as the recent rehabilitation of Corregidora Street in Xilitla.
These projects allow for more comfortable and safer travel, improve the experience for visitors to each municipality, and generate greater economic activity for service providers, merchants, producers, and families who depend on tourism.
Ricardo Gallardo Cardona invited local, national, and international tourists to visit the six Magical Towns during this holiday season, learn about their traditions, and enjoy the hospitality that distinguishes San Luis Potosí as a diverse and modern destination.
