During the Easter holiday period, San Luis Potosí consolidated its position as an international tourist magnet, attracting more than 100,000 domestic visitors and nearly 20,000 international visitors. This was reported by Claudia Lorena Peralta Antigua, Director of Municipal Tourism, who highlighted the participation of visitors from more than 30 countries in the many religious, sporting, and cultural activities of the “San Luis Festival in Spring 2025.”

Among the most notable nationalities were tourists from the United States, Spain, Colombia, South Korea, Ecuador, and Guatemala. Many of them arrived days before the iconic Procession of Silence, allowing them to participate in other activities and fully explore the city’s tourist and cultural offerings.

Peralta Antigua emphasized that this season has positioned itself as one of the strongest for tourism in the capital, with visitors staying up to four days on average. This allows for greater economic benefits for hotels, restaurants, and local businesses, especially in the heart of the Historic Center.

This tourism boom not only puts San Luis Potosí on the global map, but has also provided a significant economic boost for merchants in the city’s main square, where craft, food, and mezcal stalls saw a significant increase in sales throughout the season.
