Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, Governor of San Luis Potosí, is promoting a comprehensive security strategy. Countries like Germany, Japan, and the United States are demonstrating their confidence by investing private capital in industry, commerce, and tourism.
This unprecedented peace and tranquility in the state is the result of the state government’s actions in constant coordination between the State Civil Guard, the Ministry of National Defense, the National Guard, and the 59 municipalities, creating ideal conditions for attracting foreign investment.
Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona stated that, according to figures from the Mexican government, San Luis Potosí achieved a historic 81 percent decrease in intentional homicides during the first five months of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, making it the state with the greatest reduction in this crime nationwide.
He added that the state government has a portfolio of 43 registered projects representing more than $707 million and a projected 5,645 direct jobs, with the expectation of reaching up to $1 billion in investment during 2026.
International confidence is also reflected in tourism, as the United States government has placed San Luis Potosí at Level 2 risk, one of the most favorable classifications for American travelers visiting Mexico.
Finally, Ricardo Gallardo said he will continue investing in security, infrastructure, education, and social development in the four regions to further foster a climate of peace and trust with allied nations in the state’s economic development.
