San Luis Potosí achieved a historic decline in the average daily number of intentional homicides during January 2026, compared with the same period in 2025, according to official figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.
This progress places the state in second place nationwide among the entities with the greatest effectiveness in reducing homicides, surpassing states such as Quintana Roo, Tabasco, and Aguascalientes, and ranking only behind Zacatecas, which reported an 88% decrease.
