In this regard, the state governor, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, recently announced that new direct flights will soon be available from the San Luis Potosí International Airport, serving domestic destinations.
This announcement comes within the framework of Grupo OMA’s investment project for its 13 airport terminals, including the one in San Luis Potosí.
It is worth noting that the San Luis Potosí International Airport currently offers connections to key domestic destinations, such as Cancún, Mexico City, and Monterrey.
It also offers flights to international destinations, specifically the United States, through airlines such as American Airlines and United Airlines.
Thus, Gallardo Cardona announced that the San Luis Potosí International Airport will offer new direct flights and increased frequencies for domestic and international routes to:
Monterrey
Guadalajara
Puebla
Chicago
He also indicated that ticket sales will begin at the end of January 2026, although he did not specify which airlines will operate these flights.
Under this scenario, the governor emphasized that, in addition to new flights to the United States and domestic routes, the State Government will secure a new route to Canada.
It is worth noting that the opening of a new air route between San Luis Potosí and Canada is crucial within the framework of strengthening ties under the USMCA.
