One ton of cocaine found inside flipped truck in CDMX

A shipment of approximately 475 drug packages was discovered during a road accident by police in Mexico City (CDMX). The incident took place in the Lomas de Sotelo neighborhood , belonging to the Miguel Hidalgo district of Mexico City.

According to a statement issued by the CDMX Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), the security agents went to help a driver who turned over on Río San Juan Joaquín avenue , near the junction with the Third Ring of Circunvalación. However, when they arrived at the scene they realized that the driver had fled the scene .

When carrying out the maneuvers to put the white truck on its four wheels, a package wrapped with adhesive tape fell to the ground, from which a white powder came off, so a big area of ​​the Lomas de Sotelo neighborhood was cordoned off.

During the inspection in the overturned truck on the Río San Joaquín Avenue, in Lomas de Sotelo, they found 475 packages, each measuring 24 centimeters long by 14 wide, with an approximate weight of 1,200 kilograms of white powder with the characteristics of cocaine.
