192 people die every week in Querétaro from Covid


Querétaro, January 18, 2021.- According to information from the Organizational Spokesperson, in the state of Querétaro 192 people have died each week from Covid 19, which is equivalent to an average of 27 people daily.

Faced with this situation, they insist on the population to take more drastic measures, such as canceling all kinds of meetings during this week and following the indications for social training, since the epidemiological traffic light will continue to remain red, in the same way as the measures of the scenario C valid until February 1st.

For Rafael López González, one of the many reasons why contagions have not been stopped in the state is because of the December celebrations that ended until January 6th, so the effects will continue to be reflected during this week. Therefore, he urged citizens to raise alert levels to stay safe.

On the other hand, he explained that the state of Querétaro has not completely returned to confinement, because a culture of care is being sought, so that the life of Queretanos can continue.

“You can live without contagion and by following prevention measures and using social training,” he reiterated.

Meanwhile, in the state, it has not been possible to reduce hospital pressure, since according to data from the State Government, for this it would be necessary for there to be fewer than 50 active cases daily.

However, the state currently registers more than 200 cases daily, only during the last 24 hours, 243 new cases were reported (125 women and 118 men) and a total of 37,345 have been recorded in Queretaro since the beginning of the pandemic.

Regarding hospitalizations, there are 415 hospitalized patients in the state, which means that in the last update of the state of Querétaro, historical averages have been reached from January 16 to January 17, with an increase of 1.3 percent, while previously the average ranged .5 percent daily.

To date, a total of 2,503 deaths have been registered statewide, so the lethality of the pandemic is currently 6.7%
